#25 - Coming of Age (Part 4) - My Own Private Idaho (1991)

The Coming of Age series is coming to a close with Gus Van Sant's My Own Private Idaho. Before the boys dive into the Shakespearian story of the sleepy hooker, they talk of all the things they've seen in the past week. The roster involves the action-packed Jack Ryan, Dan & Alan's detrimental neglect of The Wire & Oz, Polanski's Carnage, Hardy's Venom, and all things Charlie Manson! Once that's out of the way, we can all find out together if River Phoenix comes of age or wastes away. Watch and Listen!

#22 - Coming of Age (Part 1) - Eighth Grade (2018) w/Ben Gelber

This week is the beginning of our namesake month! The boys sit down with their good friend Ben Gelber to discuss Bo Burnham’s Eighth Grade and coming of age films in general. They get into the history of the genre, it’s influences, and how it’s evolved over time. Also, the boys go over the lackluster Deadpool 2, a spider that will give you a dangerous erection, how bad the English dub sounds on Netflix’s Dark, and the genius of Bo Burnham. Listen and enjoy!
